As you gather today for your end-of-year celebration, I want to take a moment to offer my thanks and admiration for everything you’ve done this year.
Please know that I see and appreciate the tremendous work each of you contributes to our academic mission. The time, care, and professionalism you bring to every faculty appointment, reappointment, promotion, leave, and recognition effort truly makes a difference. These processes are complex and often behind the scenes, but they are foundational to the success of our faculty and to the excellence of Notre Dame.
Your collaboration through the FAST Community of Practice has not only strengthened the consistency and quality of these efforts across colleges and departments—it’s also created a culture of partnership and shared purpose that speaks volumes about who you are and how you work. You’ve built something remarkable together.
